Merridale Primary School

Children at Merridale Primary school really enjoyed creating their artwork based on interpreting Henri Rousseau’s Surprised. Children put together work that showcased their collages, painting skills and use of pastels. Our children are confident using different medias and creating texture and perspective by tearing and layering various papers. They made an informed choice of colours of nature to help create the mood of their compositions. This has been a fun way to show off their existing skills and to experiment with other areas of creating art that they may not have tried before.
