Warstones Primary School

Our children at Warstones loved the picture ‘Surprised’ by Henri Rousseau. They tried to explore different aspects of the image and focused on using various mediums to create their own interpretation. Colour was a major influence, especially with our younger children. Our older children took the concept ‘Surprised’ to heart and thought about what other things might surprise you appearing from the depths of the jungle. What was apparent was how much they all enjoyed the debate and discussion about what the picture meant to each of them and how they could put their own slant on the idea. Creativity was definitely the winner!
